Northlake Helps Families This Thanksgiving

December 16, 2015

The team at Northlake Moving and Storage knows all about packing for families. They move hundreds of families to new homes each year, but just before Thanksgiving, they gathered at the company office and packed some very special boxes for families in need in the community.

Casey Terrell Guidry, Marketing Director at Northlake, challenged the Northlake team to donate money to purchase food items for the families, and whatever team members donated, the company matched. With 95 percent of the team participating, they had collected enough money to go grocery shopping. They then returned back to Northlake with 347 pounds of food which they packed with care.

The Northlake team ensured each family received two boxes and a cooler bag just in time for Thanksgiving. The included green beans, corn, peas, fruit, cranberry sauce and all the fixings for a wonderful Thanksgiving feast including pumpkin pie, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, crescent rolls, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing mix, chicken broth, onions, cooking oil and sugar, marshmallows, gravy, cheese, butter, turkey, milk, eggs, baking tins, aluminum foil, whipped topping, drink mixes and even holiday napkins.

“Everyday, we see the challenges many families face, and we wanted to do something to make life better even in some small way for those in our community who need help,” explained Guidry. “As Americans, Thanksgiving is truly a special holiday that reminds all of us about the importance of sharing.”

Northlake is part of the Atlas Network and employs more than 20 people who oversee local moves which are within a 150-mile radius of Covington, as well as, national moves across state lines and international moves. In addition to the moving services, Northlake also offers storage and distribution services.
